Signs You Should Get Your Alarm Battery Checked

An alarm system is one of the most widely installed security systems in any home or business due to the alarm system’s ability to notify against any imminent danger such as fire, duress vandalism and intruders. The majority of today’s alarm systems are operated by mains electricity as it is the most reliable way to power an alarm and no battery changing is required. Mains-powered alarm systems have battery backups to keep the system functioning during a power outage. How do you know it is time for your battery health to be checked and then replaced if deemed faulty.

Age Of The Battery:

The quality of the battery decreases as time goes on. This affects your battery’s ability to power up or keep it powered for a long time. If it has been more than 3-5 years since the alarm battery has been replaced, then it is time for you to get your alarm system checked by professionals.

A Beeping Keypad Of Alarm System:

All alarm systems, be it fire, perimeter, burglar or any other alarm system; come with a keypad to arm and disarm the alarm system by entering a pin number. If the keypad starts to beep all of the sudden without any signs of danger, it is a sign that your alarm battery system may be faulty. The battery then needs to be checked by a professional to assess the fault.

Low On Battery Sign Is On:

If the alarms’ low battery sign is blinking, it’s an indication that you need to get your alarms’ battery checked. If your keypad low battery light is flashing, then it’s time to contact a professional to get your battery system checked and then replaced.
